The Arkansas Rural Opioid Use Disorder Team Education consortium will be holding a community naloxone training followed by lunch and a panel discussion on opioid use disorder this coming Monday, August 29th at the First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville. The event begins at noon. Lunch will be served at 1pm, and the panel discussion begins at 1:30.
Naloxone is a medication used for the treatment of a known or suspected opioid overdose emergency with signs of breathing problems and severe sleepiness or not being able to respond. The training and panel discussion is intended to increase awareness about addiction and recovery, help people understand opioid use disorder, and teach community members how to respond to an opioid overdose. The first 85 attendees will receive a free Naloxone kit that included one dose of the nasal spray. A free lunch will also be provided.
