Several members of the ABHIN team attended the 2024 Peer Recovery Conference held in Benton over the last two days where attendees heard about the efforts being made across the state to further recovery services, decrease stigma, and increase sustainability and access.
Our own Lead Peer Support Specialist, Megan Copeland along with CEO, Kim Shuler, and Medical Peer Specialist, Nicole Hanners, presented on the groundbreaking program recently implemented in EDs and medical clinics across North Arkansas. This HRSA grant helped facilitate the integration of peers into medical settings over the course of just 9 months! Here you can see Megan and Nicole speaking to the efficacy of this model with 40 percent of the referrals to peers entering some form of treatment. We are so proud of the work these ladies have done!
